Setup. Once you have your iOS device and your HomeKit hardware, you’ll need to add it to your Home app. To do that, you’ll be asked to enter an eight-digit code or scan the HomeKit QR code
Select Remotes & Devices from the menu. Select Learn Remote. Make sure the universal remote is on and you are using an unused device setting. Select Start using the universal remote. Press and hold the button on your universal remote you want to be used for the Up button until the progress bar is full.
